Independently owned and operated for over fifteen years, Top Hat and Tails Canine Training School offers a "PAWSitive" approach to dog training. Numerous course offerings include agility, puppy socialization, basic manners/obedience and Rally, as well as behavior problem solving and Canine Good Citizen testing. Top Hat and Tails is veterinarian recommended and features a state-of-the-art training surface and competition-grade equipment.
Daytime, evening and Saturday group, semi-private and private classes and lessons are offered, in addition to in-home training. The "Little Rascals" and puppy socialization programs offer puppies and their families an opportunity to learn basic skills while providng ample opportunities for socialization and play, in addition to building confidence and proficiency through puppy agility training. Informal play sessions afford spirited canines and their owners a chance to socialize in a secure environment. A private consultation session is required of all new students. A lifelong dog owner and canine performance enthusiast, Antoinette Krafcheck started training both pure-and mixed-breed dogs at the age of eight, and has owned, trained and handled champion Bearded Collies for over 30 years. Her dogs have won numerous titles and awards in competition agility, obedience, conformation and herding, and two of her Beardies have earned the coveted Versatility and Versatility Excellent titles. Antoinette started Top Hat and Tails over 15 years ago, thus integrating an eclectic, 24+ year career with her lifelong passion.
Antoinette, who holds an MA degree in marriage and family therapy, worked for many years as a broadcast journalist, public relations professional, adjunct college professor and human relations/public speaking instructor while training dogs in her spare time. Now she utilizes her extensive background in communication, education and behavioral science to assist clients in meeting their goals and to integrate their canine companions into the family system.
